You messed up P&G
Date:May 5, 2012
The 5 star rating only applies to the product we used to be able to get. So P&G was sucked in to the goofy brilliiant and flashy boxes. Disappointing! It would have been fine to change the box but you should have left what was inside alone. Go back to the original cardboard lites. I can't find them anywhere! I tried the Pearls and they are awful. I am forced to seek a new brand since the cardboard regular and lites have disappeared.

using these forever
Date:April 28, 2012
Pros: convenient
I 've been buying these forever. I do love them for light days in the light cardboard tampons. Nothing else works, even for working out. The new design is better for application but is sometimes mediocre for protection. I don't know why they changed it. I've been in tampons since I was 12. I prefer pads for super heavy days but work out a lot and usually have to wear super plus tampons. Sometimes I will buy pearl but I like the fact cardboard has been around forever and is simple, cotton without plastic, and scents.

Such a mess!
Date:April 19, 2012
Why change something that has been so great?!?! I just had a baby so hadn't used tampons in a while. And once I got the clear from my doc I was so excited about getting back to my regular tampons (Tampax Cardboard, Multipack), only to find that not only do they not sell the multipack anymore, but the tampon itself is different! And not in a good way! You should have just left it alone...

New Design absorbs urine
Date:April 15, 2012
Pros: flushable applicator
Cons: absorbs urine, slips down
Have used Tampax Cardboard Applicator Tampons for years. I am 50 years old. For a while now I have had to change the tampon each time I go to the bathroom. The bottom of it absorbs urine and it drops down and feels like it is going to fall out. I thought something was wrong with me because I know how to get them all the way in as I've been using them for 35 years. Thanks to finding another comment on this site I am comforted to know it is the new design and not me!! I am switching to another brand!!

PLEASE bring back the old version
Date:March 25, 2012
Good grief- How many people have to tell Proctor and Gamble that the tampon now leaks, and the string is almost always wet way before the tampon is soaked? This new version is just awful. I have been a loyal Tampax customer for 3 decades and am now forced to start searching for an alternative. The new version is so bad that I ruin anything I'm wearing the days of my period. And I don't have a heavy flow at all. In fact, its always been quite light. So the fact that the string is CONSTANTLY wet is really just disgusting. Are there no women helping design this?? Seriously.

What has changed recently?
Date:March 3, 2012
I have used the Tampax Regulars for almost 20 years without problem. However recently things have changed! I constantly have to change the tampons every 2 hours, sometime less! I've noticed the string getting shorter and sometimes it is IMPOSSIBLE to push the Tampon out of the applicator. What have you done to change the product just to save money?? In the last 2 months I have soiled 4 pairs of underwear. This is just not acceptable and it is so disappointing that the brand has been diminshed after so many good years. !

These Applicators are the Worst
Date:February 8, 2012
Pros: none
Cons: difficult to insert
Impossible to use, tampons end up being wasted and tossed in the trash. Waste of money, waste of time...will not buy again!

Disappointed and frustrated
Date:January 22, 2012
Cons: leaks, hard to insert
I have used Tampax tampons for many years and am very disappointed with the the changes made to the cardboard regular tampons. The applicator is too short making it very difficult to insert. The 'no slip grip' is actually very slippery. The shiny finish on the carboard is great, except it shouldn't be shiny where you have to grip it. I have to push the tampon halfway out of the applicator before I insert it, otherwise it is nearly impossibly to get the 'plunger' part to push in. Although this works better, it is uncomfortable. I also find the string too short, so when it is time to remove it I have a hard time finding it. It also leaks like no other tampon I have ever used. It is very frustrating and uncomfortable to use. I will not continue to use this product once I have exhausted my current supply. Please bring back the old ones!

Unhappy period time
Very disappointed with SUPER tampons
Date:January 19, 2012
I am very relieved to read that I am not the only one experiencing leaks. These were the best once upon a time and only in the last year have I experienced leaks and having to change them every two hours. I refuse to wear a pad, but need to find a new product. Please, please, please bring back the old tampon that we all miss and love.

tampons are impossible to insert correctly
Date:December 23, 2011
the applicator is too short(you have shortened it an inch)not allowing for full insertion. I have arthritis in my hands and it is almost impossible to grab hold of and insert. If I do get it partially inserted it is not in all the way and is so uncomfortable that it either comes out or I have to remove it. THE WORLD IS NOT ONLY YOUNG FLEXIBLE FEMALES THERE ARE 50 SOMETHINGS STILL USING YOUR PRODUCT!! WAKE UP! I will never buy this again.

new tampon
Date:December 17, 2011
Please go back to the old cardboard tampon. The new one is awful. I have trouble with insertion and finally figured out why, the cardboard tube is a good deal shorter than the old style. I also, like some of the previous reviewers, have problems with them staying in, if I can get one completely inserted. The actual tampon itself is shorter than the old ones. I have always used tampax tampons, but now I will be trying to find a new one which I don't appreciate having to do at the age of 56.

Lose the skirt!
Date:December 14, 2011
Pros: cardboard applicator
Cons: absorbs urine and sweat
It is good to read all the other reviews that state the same thing I have noticed- the new "leak guard skirt" actually causes more problems! The skirt is constantly wet and smelly. Once it becomes wet, the tampon no longer stays in place the same way the old ones did. I recently found an old Tampax tampon in my purse and was reminded that once upon a time this product was the best on the market. Sadly this is no longer true. If they don't bring back the old design soon I will have to switch to another brand. I can't walk around with wet underwear for a week every month.

Bring back the old Tampax. Hate the new design
Date:December 13, 2011
Pros: none
Cons: causes odors / smelly, not very absorbant, leak guard pointless, uses synthetic fibers
The new Tampax with leak guard is terrible. It is not as absorbant. It uses synthetic fibers instead of full cotton, and these fibers don't absorb as well and seem to collect odors, which was never a problem with the old model. The leak guard also seems to cause leaks rather than stopping them, and since it's outside your body it can absorb urine and sweat - leading to odor. The leak guard also means that if I take a bath, the water easily gets absorbed into the tampon itself, which again, never happened when bathing or swimming with the old tampons. The new design is unhygienic and much less effective. I don't know why Proctor & Gamble won't listen to the many, many people who have complained about the new design. Please, please bring back the old Tampax.

Its the only brand I use!
Date:December 13, 2011
I've been using Tampax since I first started using tampons. I've never had a problem with them, they are comfortable and a good value compared to other brands. I love that they are flushable. When I go to a friend's house and I don't want them to know I have my period it is an awesome way to hide it. Thanks for being such a wonderful brand!

HATE HATE HATE
Date:December 5, 2011
Cons: causes leaks, uncomfortable
I will never purchase these again. I used to buy these all the time because it's easy to flush everything away. But now, it is NOT worth my constant discomfort from the new leak guard "skirt" or the leaks it actually CAUSES. SO UNCOMFORTABLE with the new leak guard. It is so uncomfortable that I have actually resorted to attempting to cut the skirts off so I don't waste my money on this ridiculous product by throwing the new box away. But then try to figure out how to insert it afterwards... never, never, never will purchase this again.

paper not plastic
Date:November 28, 2011
Pros: paper applicator
Cons: bleached cotton
i would like to thank tampax for still making tampons with cardboard applicators. I just can't stand the thaught of every plastic applicator filling up our garbage dumps and oceans. PLease encourage all your freinds to buy the cardboard applicators too! i would like to see tampax come out with an "all natural tampon". With minimal packaging, recycled materials and unbleached cotton.

Where did all the cardboard go?
Date:November 27, 2011
I love the tampax product but I can't find the tampax cardboard lites anywhere and I shop at many different places on a weekly basis. I have looked at my Wal-mart , Walgreens and my local Albertsons I have even went to a few other local grocery stores but no one seems to carry them anymore I have been able to find the tampax pearl lites but i don't feel that the pearl gives me the same protection and it is so frustrating to find a relialble product and then find that they have taking it off the store shelves. I would really appreciate if they would put the cradboard tampons back on the store shelves.

Tampax Pearl is much better
Date:November 22, 2011
Pros: flushable
I found this product alittle harder to put in properly. The applicator sticks together so putting it in is harder, and for those mom's with kids even a few moments extra is too much. I even had to throw away a few. I would definitely recommend Tampax Pearl which has a different and smoother applicator and slides in right away.
