I decided to use the tampax pearl because of my heavy flow. The protection is is no different and also I have noticed loose fiber from the tampon in the toilet this is scary and i be buying any more.

Pearls are a bad idea if...

Cons: Low Protection, poor quality string
you have a heavy cycle. The string unravels easily and isn't as long as the original tampax. The pearl does slide in easier than the basic applicator but if you have a heavy flow it doesn't absorb as much as the original tampax. The applicator is also harder to use due to the skinney inner tube & neck on the outter tube is hard to hang on to due to it's size. I will never buy these again. I have used Tampax the last 28 years & if all they sell is the pearl I will have to find a new brand.

I love how smooth it feels, how easy it is to put in and feeling like it isn't there. I love them! After trying many different tampons, tampax pearl is definitely the best for me. For someone who is still getting leaks, you could try the sports one, it's great as well.

with all that you see and hear on tv bout the pearl.. i went and bought them... stop the leak not really...
